It’s my birthday!
I love January. It is a New Year, we’ve just partied, and we’re making new friends, new resolutions and new goals for ourselves, our lives and our businesses. Plus, January is when my birthday is. This means I am a Capricorn, not an Aquarian.
I know there are a lot of people out there who think astrology is a whole bunch of mumbo jumbo. But I like to think of it as a playful guide. I don’t run my life by the stars, but I think there is some cool stuff behind the star signs. A friend I know, a writer, who is a Gemini, is such a Gemini he is annoying. Or he is just annoying anyway? Who knows, but it is fun to say it’s because he is a Gemini.
What are the aspects of a Capricorn such as myself? Capricorns have drive and ambition, coupled with a rock-solid work ethic. I am able to make friends with people easily, and keep them on as friends. I also elevate people’s standards by producing high quality work. I’m sure there are some not so nice things to say about Capricorns, but that’s not important right now.
I work very well with Taurus and Pisces, according to the astrological profile. But then again, that annoying Gemini guy I told you about? I work well with him too. I think that means I am very amiable to a wide range of people.
Working with me, is an unforgettable experience. I like to tell my clients, and market myself to people, to forget the norm, to think outside the box, and to reach to places in your imagination, where you might not always go. I do this for my clients because I enjoy doing this for myself.
The tried and true method of marketing can still work when you think differently. Testing a product or service, the A/B Split testing of two or more kinds of advertising, target audience and so forth, all these fundamentals still apply and work. But adding a little bit of flair and sparkle to what you do, can often make the difference between okay results and awesome results.
Another aspect of being a Capricorn is the belief that you can change the world. Again, I know this anyway, so it might not just be a Capricorn thing, but still, that idea that you can change the world is a great one. And by ‘the world’, it doesn’t have to be the world out there, at large. It can be your world, or the world of someone else close to you, or whom you have contact and interactions with. And the way you can do that is many and varied.
Now, making someone smile, or making someone happy, changes the world. We’re stepping back into the mumbo jumbo a bit, but it’s true. You make stronger connections to the pleasure centres of your brain than you do with your pain centres. We all want to move away from pain, to pleasure. Make someone happy, make them smile, and you’ve taken them away from pain to pleasure.
And you’ve changed their world. : ) Simple, isn’t it?
So Happy Birthday to me, during January. And being the crazy lady that I am, I want to give YOU a birthday gift. If you sign up with me, for a website, for some marketing, during January or February, I want to give you the gift of a gift card. It can be Coles Myer, Itunes, Office Works perhaps, but a gift card to the value of $100. How’d that sound? Does that put a smile on your face? Now let’s go and change that world!
