Being in business, in this wild, digital world, can be a crazy puzzle and sometimes not all the pieces fit. The pieces can include social media, and all those different channels, search engine optimisation (SEO), website development, website hosting, digital marketing, training and development. As a pesky millennial myself, I had no idea what the hell the (#) pound key was, this was until I had a very long (technology related) conversation with my mother regarding their use. This convo inevitably resulted in her teaching me what the pound key was. While the hashtag –or pound- symbol may have been around for some time now, the principle as know it today, wasn’t used until Twitter introduced it to the World Wide Web in August 2007.
Essentially the hashtag is a hyperlink, it may be a label indicating a connection or a metadata tag that is used on blogs and social networks. You need to be true to yourself, which will give you a much more powerful and honest branding experience.

I don’t run my life by the stars, but I think there is some cool stuff behind the star signs. A friend I know, a writer, who is a Gemini, is such a Gemini he is annoying. Or he is just annoying anyway? Who knows, but it is fun to say it’s because he is a Gemini.
On Wednesday 17th of June, Certificate IV in Marketing and Certificate IV in Business students from Swinburne University of Technology (TAFE) got a taste for the real world by participating in a mock trade show event. A webinar is a web presentation that’s delivered by a hosting supplier to an audience of individuals. Webinars are an invaluable marketing tool which help to generate leads, attract new signups and build brand recognition.
The great thing about offering a webinar is that you know your audience is interested in the subject on offer. This is often quite useful as it allows the presenter to onsell a product or service that one is providing as the webinar audience are considered ‘hot prospects’.
